Disaster Recovery is a coordinated response to natural and man-made disasters such as floods, fires, storms and major accidents.

People from our Parish and the surrounding community make up the Bungendore Disaster Recovery Team. Anglicare is a Community Partner under the NSW State emergency Plan and the ACT Community Recovery Sub-Plan. The team may be activated by State or Territory Government in times of an emergency.

Disaster Recovery volunteers are provided with training and become accredited volunteers. They will then be called upon to aid in Evacuation Centres and provide care and comfort, practical support, information, referrals to other services, clothing and essential items as needed. Our volunteers may also be called upon to assist other community aid partners in their provision of support services.
